T-28 Incident 5/27/2010

I've seen someone die at the race track...Don't want to see that again...I go to see fast cars with good competition...

I go to airshows to see stuff fly safely as well. I go the airport at lunch time to watch student pilots and/or airliners do what they do best. Circuits and bumps! And I do have camera most of the time...be careful Taylor we might be watching...

Same here, seen 2 fatal air crashes up close and way too personal, dont care to ever repeat those experiences. And i will not post pictures of stuff seen, way i see it all i need to do is focus on keeping from bending anything myself, watch out for my friends and make sure we can all sit in a chair at the end of the day and tell lies. The aviationnet is far quicker than the internet, so you will not be able to keep anything a secret for long

Haha!!! Some of you might know we have an airport cafe here at Stinson and there have been a few discussions (only half serious) about making a big scoreboard and attaching it to the tables. Then everyone could vote on the landing and a pilot could glance over to see his combined score.

good to hear the crew made it safely out of the incident.

Its never nice to see any aircraft bent like that never alone a T-28. the aircraft are relatively strong but as noted can only take so much.

good to see more accurate newspaper reporting....1949 T-48!!!!

I don't know about that Lynn. I've seen two crashes, both fatal, and I really don't care to EVER see another one. I want to see a bunch of planes flying safely with plenty of margin for error.

And yes, this was in the newspaper today, and TV news yesterday. I didn't know about it until my ex-UAL fellow workers told me about it and gav me the article. Apparently he couldn't get the gear down, so elected to land it with the gear up.

Left main was down and locked. It chewed up the prop and right wing, but looks repairable. I talked to someone who saw it come in, and the pilot did a great job under the circumstances.
