305th Bomb Group B-17 ideas

Thu Jun 10, 2010 11:07 am

I thought I might make this it's own thread. We are restoring the B-17 at Grissom Air Museum, and would like some suggestions of an aircraft to depict. The only thing is we need it to be in the 305th markings, and a B-17G. All suggestions will be looked at and considered. Please feel free to post pics or drawings.

For something a little out of the ordinary, how about "Old Half and Half"? There's some info about her on the following links...

Good luck with the grant! :)

44-6009 "Flak Eater" is a nice colorful one.

I'll second Flak Eater. Besides the fact it's a good looking scheme, there are a few diecast models available (Corgi & Dragon for example) that could be sold in the museum to raise funds for the restoration & hangar/cover. My 2 cents....

Y'know, I hadn't even thought of the merchandising angle.
Contact Mr. Styling and arrange sales of (limited edition?) prints of his profile art of the plane, too?
