CWH Flyfest 2010

Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:34 pm

Any Wixers venturing to Hamilton this weekend for the CWH Flyfest?

For those not familiar with the event, it is the one weekend a year where there is the best opportunity to see (and photograph!) the CWH's currently flying aircraft take to the air several times throughout the day both Saturday and Sunday.

Vintage Wings P-40 arrived today for the event, and the 1941 HAG is planning on bringing their C-47, as well as Martin Mattes with his L-29 and Yak-52 will be their.

Some Canadian forces military aircraft will be on display as well.

It is also a great opportunity to see the progress on the restoration projects such as the Bolingbroke and the TBM Avenger.

Mike is their a chance this year Sandy will fly the Sea Fury? or will it just be parked? Is the Kittyhawk going to fly or again is it just static?

I wish Sandy displayed that Sea Fury at shows, is their a reason why it is always a static bird?

Dave,

Sandy is scheduled to fly both the Fouga and Sea Fury. The VWoC P-40 is also scheduled to fly. Hope to see you here.

Actually, no, I'm not slated to fly the P-40 unless someone sponsors the airplane. It's there for static display.

If you venture down to Tillsonburg next Saturday, you'll get your chance...

Don't think I'll be able to make it to CWH this weekend, however. Being on call is a PITA sometimes.

The P-40 flew twice today and the weather was fantastic!
I managed to get a flight with a friend in his L-29 and got a little stick time! Fun airplane.
Will attach a few photos shortly.

Dave, you are looking at the wrong picture. The one that hahnej is talking about is a Fleet 21K.

I enjoyed both Friday and Sat at CWHM. The P-40 and Lysander looked fantastic in the air. Any idea what happened to the Lancaster?

Andrew..
