One of these days the weather Gods will smile on Old Warden on a show day. Until then we will have to put up with trying conditions and icy cold wind.

In Hangar 1 the PO2 is progressing, the wings and fuselage are being covered

The Spitfire wings are being worked on now they are in their new jigs

The Eds stayes safely tucked up in the hangar due to the high winds

The LAA's "Build a Plane" project aims to get youngsters involved in all aspects of aviation, the idea being that a number of youth organisations build parts of a Homebuld microlight under supervision of the LAA. It will hopefully give them responsibilities and teach them new skills as a member of a team hopefully inspiring the youngsters onto bigger and better things. A bit like the old Air Ministry remit of "promoting air mindedness". The three aircraft so far constructed (or part thereof) were present

This is G-TSOB "Spirit of Brooklands" the first build

G-SPDY Number 2

This is the third aircraft, still under construction. With pupils from Yately School who are one of the build teams

Anything that gets people involved with aviation is fine by me.

There was also a fly in of LAA types (and many featured in the display)

Eindekker microlight replica, not sure this flew in though!

Some one tell him hes got it in reverse!

Hand built by the owner, I still think it looks like a cartoon of the aircraft though (I know what does mine look like!)

The light made photography difficult
