OK, really stupid question here.

I'm thumbing through a coffee-table book (Wings Over Water), and it has pictures of what seem to be replica S6Bs, R3C-2s, Macchi M52s and a Vickers Viking. But I can't find info on any of these aircraft anywhere (in my whole 5 minutes of internet searching.) Are they models? (zodiac in back of one picture seems to give correct scale - unless that's jsut a model Zodiac, in which case...) Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like Planes of Fame. Try their website and scroll through pics of their collection.

There was a heme park in the UK in the early 1980's that had a bunch of replica floatplane Racers floating on a lake. I can't remember the name but it eventually closed and I believe they were auctioned off. I think POF does has the Curtiss R3C. Anybody confirm?

The theme park was named Thorpe Park and it was located not far from Heathrow Airport. Apart from the Schneider Trophy Racer replicas it also incorporated a recreation of a RNAS World War 1 airfield with a number of replica fighter planes, some of which were airworthy.

I visited Thorpe Park in 1979 and the concept was a good idea, but it was quite difficult to get to without a car. I took quite a lot of slides and as I am about to purchase a slide scanner I'll post some images when I get a chance.

Thanks Keith;
I couldn't remember the name but I do remember it was a neat concept.
