Dave,

Can you post a photo of it? It might help in getting a reply.

I have two N3Cs and two N3Bs and plan to use one of the four in my father's SNJ-5. The top reflector glass for the SNJ-T-6 is the really hard part to find but I'm chasing one here in St. Louis right now. The N3C was used on a number of a/c and I suspect they were made by several companies during WWII. As far as I can tell, they were sold after the war by outfits like Edmund Scientific and others so they are relatively common. I've paid anywhere from $50.00 to $150.00 for them on ebay but I've seen them go as low as $20.00 and as high as $250.00. An interesting overview is available at this website below. I hope it helps.

Actually the above site's home page is full of interesting info. It's mostly translated from Japanese but I've found it very helpful in the last few years.

I bought the reflector from Lance Aircraft in Dallas a few years ago, they had the T-6/SNJ style and the Harvard one with the "folding" reflector. We have one of each in our SNJ and Harvard, they bolted right in.

Thanks Ken. I checked with Lance four or five years ago and they did not have any but maybe they have them in stock now. I'll give them a call.

I'd press them a little bit, I think it was John that helped me. They didn't seem to know much about them, I don't think they are a big seller. It's been a few years but not five. If you want photos, PM me an email address.

If anyone has any to spare, we at Vintage Wings of Canada are looking for a N2A with reflector glass for our P-40N. I believe we can offer a tax-receipt if that's any use.

Hi, y'all!

I just received the N-3C that I bought from Bruce.

I would like to find if someone here, has the reflector glass and assembly? Also, I would like to acquire the prism.

Any leads will be appreciated.

Saludos,

Tulio
