B-25 Lucky Lady - New photos taken today

Sun Sep 05, 2010 6:50 pm

Unfortunately not much has changed regarding the status of the B-25 Lucky Lady sitting at Franklin Airport in Franklin, VA, other than the weather is taking it's toll. I stopped by today and took some more photos.

You can buy a flyer for the price that the owners were last reported to be asking for "Lucky" Lady. I have been around that airplane for years now and nothing has been done except to have liens pile up against the airframe. The first step for anyone really interested in a rescue, hire a lawyer and do a super deep title search!

I was wondering who's been paying the tie down fees all these years.

To the best of my knowledge the individual that brokers the airplane has been paying the tie down fees. Part of the problem is that he under valued the airplane for tax purposes and got caught at it by the county. That is the start of the issues around the airframe, it gets deeper, much deeper.

Why isnt the aircraft sold off to pay the debts owed fees etc? It is a darn shame to see an aircraft like this rotting away slowly..

Man that just sucks to go through the trouble of restoring that aircraft, then just to have it sit out there like that. I love the nose art.

Interesting that the bomb bay has no "ceiling" so to speak. The upper panel has been removed.

Or perhaps some people have too little money, and that's partly the reason for its current situation...
