Anyone know where the missing engine is?

I am guessing whomever holds the lein on this airplane is holding the engine as well. Does anyone know who that might be? What is the registration number of this B-25?

That makes me sick. This one should be saved.

You can order the FAA files through the FAA website.
$10 for the CD of PDF files. .10 a page for paper.
The registration file record will include any legal liens registered with the FAA.
Any other type of lien would be of the order of Wild West Law and Order.
All you need is the N Number to do this.

can't somebody at least shrink wrap it to protect it from the weather. that would at least give her some time instead of being eaten away. I think WIX should buy it! Make WIX it's own organization and fund it through donations from us. What do you think?

Shrink wrapping her would only make matters worse. The paper mill (now closed) across the street has been raining on her for at least 10 years. The shrink wrap would only serve as an oven. Let alone all the bird's nests in the wings. She needs to be moved inside, torn down, cleaned out and the inspection could start.

of course that would be the ideal situation, but doesn't seem like anybody is going to do that. Shrink wrapping it contains built in vents,( they do them mostly for boats.) Tarps really wouldn't do all that much. At least wrapping it would keep the rain off of it and the birds out

I'm Chris Robinson, Robbie's, son. Both my brother Gary and I worker alot on her, "Chapter XII". She got her name Lucky Lady from a Old Spice commercial and Robbie left the new nose art on after the shooting. She was the camera ship for the filmimg of the movie 'Battle of Britain". Left to rot in New Jersey, 25th BG bought her for $1700.00 from Tom Riley in 1977.

The rest of the restoration too place at Executive Airport Fort Lauderdale, FL.

When the current owner bought her, my father offered to instruction the pilot on operations,, but he said he knew how to fly. Well, not long after using military power on take-oof the left "older engine" blew.

And now she sits!!

I figure if the person responsible for the aircraft was smart, he'd sell it for what he can get for it NOW and settle the rest of the debt after the fact. The debt is escalating, and the value of the plane is declining. Then again, waiting until the plane is completely devalued may be the economic play that he's making at this point.

I hear the argument that "people with money should be able to do whatever they want with their warbirds". I might argue that the exact opposite is true as well. The plane needs a new custodian regardless of who is financially responsible for it. The parties involved should be wise enough to cut at least a limited deal in that regard. This is testament to the fact that money matters can kill a plane just as well as they can save them. My guess is that everyone involved dares not touch the plane out of fear that it might further complicate their legal standpoint. If that's the case, she may well be a goner.

Can anyone quote the owner's last known asking price?

It is a shame to see this happening to this old airframe. Looks like it will become another job for the Scholl team at AeroTrader
