Well, it has been almost a year to the date that "Texan 1" was flown. Last summer's hurricane collapsed a hangar onto it and another one of our T-6s and they were heavily damaged.

We have replaced both wings, engine, prop, cowling, tail, cockpit glass, much of the fuselage sheet metal, all control surfaces, and performed the necessary inspections. It has taken six months to complete after we had restored the other damaged T-6.

We test flew it last week and it flies great. I have put close to 20 hours on it in the last 6 days. It is so good to have this plane back in the air after we have been through so much in the last 12 months.

Hat's off to your team dedication Chuck.

A lot would have folded under the same circumstances.

Congratulations on a beautiful job! I nearly cried the first time I saw your post-hurricane pictures on your site. So glad that you were able to save these aircraft. Now, how about a FEMA reimbursement for the restorations? I think it would be very appropriate.

How's the shop and other damaged property?

Kindest Regards,
Scott

Thanks for all of the compliments, guys. I cant tell you how great it is to be flying the plane again everyday.
We are planning to go to Geneseo again next year in July. I am already looking forward to it.
