To put the record straight, it's the last flying CIVIL Connie in the world. All others in the L749/1049 series are retired military.

Note that the L1649's are also civil but very itinerant flier/s.

The engines are repairable, too.

The Airline History Museum's website seems to be very optimistic about getting the damages repaired and flying the Connie again in the future. check www.airlinehistorymuseum.com
