The C130 that had the midair with the P3. Was the C130 based out of Barbers Point?
I had a friend from high school that her father was either the pilot or copilot on a C130 that had its belly ripped open by a navy plane (I don't remember what kind.) He told me the story back in the late 70's. He had a inflight picture of the plane before he landed it @ Hawaii. The belly was ripped open right between the main gear.
I believe he is still living here in my hometown.

Hey, those are some great historic USCG photos!! During your future research I would be very interested in seeing photos of the following A/C in WWII USCG markings.
Curtiss SB2C Helldiver (2)
Curtiss R5C Commando (10)
Curtiss SO3C Seamew (48)
Vultee SNV Valiant (2)
Stearman N2S Kaydet (11)
The number in parentheses indicates the quantity operated by the USCG.
