Lots of cancelled flights this weekend.., 1,400 alone in NYC. All to avoid the stranding law.

Weather along the N E was very bad and impacted New York and other airports.
Lot's of flights did not operate, more than one airline,more than location.

The airlines seem to have found some concern for their passengers, and crews, and been realistic about canceling flights that were not going due to the weather. Maybe the airlines even had a bit of a soul and a bit of Christmas good will.

330, would anyone have profited, either the airline, or any of the passengers if instead of having honesty and foresight, rather the airlines had pretended that the flights were going to depart and had loaded people on board and they had sat on the plane on the ground for hours, before the flight was canceled.
If you gave the passengers a choice to stay home or wait in the terminal, or they could sit for hours inside the plane, which do you think they would choose?

Sorry, but I have to agree with Muddyboots on this one. No evidence within the articles or any industry site that the cancellations are for anything more than weather conditions and wouldn't have been canceled even before the new law.

nowhere does it say taht this was due to anything but snow.

The point that Muddy was making is pretty obvious. You seem to think that all cancellations are due to the stranding law, but I think that the weather in NY etc. was so bad that the flights would have been canceled anyway.

If not, what good would it have done to load up a plane of passengers if no flights were departing N Y. Fortunately this time the airlines were smarter or more honest than that. Except for Cathay Pacific.

Here is Aspen, we have small airport. We only have 2 gates which are really just 2 doors out of the same room, about 100 feet apart. The takeoff spot is only a few hundred yards away. I have never heard of nor seen a plane stranding passengers here, never seen a wait of more than perhaps 25 min. There is no reason to do that.

Nevertheless we do have both delays and cancellations, due to weather, (having some now) or mechanicals. We had them before and after the new stranding law.

yeah. The problem with those articles is that they provide no evidence that your asserataion is correct. All they say is that flights were cancelled. Not why. You claim that they were grounded due to the new law, which is a load of cow patty. I am not wound up,I just think you are full of it (cow patty). Have a happy new year, buoncy ball.
