Hurricane Z5252 (Ex-151 Wing)/2.GvSAP Recovery - ARTICLE

Mon Jan 31, 2011 10:31 am

Hi all

Last one for the moment. My fav British aircraft. As always, overshadowed by the Spitfire.

Amazing the condition following the recovery and ony 4 bullet holes! Just look at the Merlin XX.

Still in storage in Moscow. All we need is to find a billionaire Russian who loved the GPW and aircraft - to restore it. It has been gifted to the Russian State and is probably the most historic Hurricane operated by the Soviet AF.

Bit relating to the Hurricane and W/Cdr Isherwoods medals (Who led 151 Wing) which were sold a few months ago for £45K($60K)

News item in Moscow - recovery/history and wartime footage.

Enjoy
