Here are a couple photos from a collection I recently acquired. Sgt. Kenneth E. Haralson served with the 47th Liaison Squadron flying Stinson L-5 Sentinels in the ETO. The 47th LS was attached to Gen. Omar Bradley’s HQ from Early 1944 until VE-Day. I have over 400 original photos taken by Sgt. Haralson during this time period until his death on January 22, 1945. He was the only pilot to be lost in combat from the 47th LS. I will be scanning in the rest of the collection over the course of the summer and will post all pertinent photos here on WIX.

The collection includes photos of Gen. Eisenhower, Gen. Patton, Gen. Bradley, Gen. Simpson, Gen. Lee, Gen. Montgomery, Fred Astaire, Dina Shore, P-51s, P-38s, P-47s, L-5s, B-25s, Hawker Typhoons, Spitfires, JU-88s, FW-190s, Me-109s, etc. etc.

If you have any information on any of the aircraft, units, landmarks, and/or individuals in this collection, please let me know.

Enjoy!

Ok, I'll say it. Dallas is the L-birds capital... Nice catches!

Stunning! Were his photos sent back to the family? How did you end up with them. Can't wait to see the rest! 8) 8) 8)

Thanks guys! It'll take me a while to get all of them scanned in. I just decided to post a few photos from the first couple pages of the first album. Lots of good stuff. Mainly L-5s, however there are a lot of fighters/bombers and a ton of daily life photos of the men of the 47th LS.

Django - eBay  Last thing we [L-5 owners] wanted was for this collection to be bought and then parted out for profit. So preserving this incredible collection of history was my main objective.

Ryan- I knew you'd come around  You'll like these photos the most!

Well, I knew I didn't have deeper pockets - otherwise we'd be trying to rival Big D...

Knee deep in finals (I'm a junior at Vanderbilt). I'll try to get some more scanned over Christmas break. Sorry for taking so long to get them up.

I thought Taylor said he had more pictures than what he posted; he just had to find the time to scan them.... Right?
