I love the slight variations in color between the spinner, prop blades, cowling, etc! This plane couldn't have enjoyed any better karma that it has. The history - The story - The rediscovery - The restoration - The final product!!

I'd like to see it with a chrome rudder, but otherwise it is PERFECT! A job well done to all involved and to Mr. Allen for letting it fly.

It does strike me as a bit odd that a guy who has more money in the ashtray of his car than we all have in the bank, uses two forklifts to shuffle the airframe assemblies around and mate them. Big forklift to get the parts off the trailer (good job Smokey Point Delivery ) but why not a boom crane for the sling lifts?
Anyway pretty soon this month I'll hear that 801 overhead!!
I figured that if originally the entire rudder and the ailerons had been painted out in the middle of nowhere it would have required removal and rebalancing to compensate for the extra paint, just like painting a BEECH BONANZA, and you know they weren't set up to do that in Mud Junction, Rodina.

I didn't know that Paul Allen was a forklift driver too, you learn something new every day. I just assumed that he had 'people' to do that sort of work for him!
