Guy on airliners.net wants to know about these: Bf 109 and Fw 190 at Dusseldorf in 81. Where are they now?

They look like replicas to me, so I guess they were scrapped.

Look like part of the 'Air Klassic' Collection which made replicas of Luftwaffe aircraft, most ended up being scrapped IIRC, but will make inquiries in Germany and come back.

Both aircraft look slightly mishapen to my eye. I don't know for sure but I would say they are mock-ups.

Agree. The 190 has a bunch of wrinkles in the fuselage and it doesn't look like any of the control surfaces have any clearance to move. The canopy glass ad frame on the 109 are too flimsy as well.

'This Fw-190 replica of JG26 was at the Air Classic Museum at Dusseldorf. The museum is now closed. It is now at the International Luftfahrtmuseum at Villingen-Schwennigen.'

darn shame that faux Emil was scrapped; that was a BEAUTIFUL mottling job on that 5./JG27 aircraft. I'd love to have one of those... sort of like modeling in 1/1 scale! It needs a rudder correction, and I'm sure Cutting Edge would come out with a resin cockpit set...

"These replicas have been made in the early seventies by Manfred Pflumm, now owner of the aviation museum at Schwenningen.
At that time he made a Me 163, Bf 109, Fw 190, Ju 87 an Me 262.
These replicas were many years on show at the Air Classic collection at different German airports (Düsseldorf, Frankfurt,
Marl-Loemühle). Finally they got back to Schwenningen.
After many years they deterioated because they had been mainly from plywood.
The only survivor is the Me 163 which is now on show at the Aviation Museum at Merseburg/Germany. All others habe been
scrapped. When I visited Schwenningen the last time in June 2005 only fragments of the Bf 109 E were visible at the store
at the rear of the museum. All other relics have been scrapped.
The Fw 190 at Sinsheim is also a replica from Pflumm, but not identical with the other formerly at Düsseldorf.
Pflumm also made other replicas for several museums:
Junkers J 9 Luftwaffenmuseum
2 Junkers F 13 at Laatzen and at Stuttgart airport
6 Fokker Dr I for different museums (Schwenningen, Laatzen, Merseburg and others)
Albatros L 73 at Schwenningen (formerly Stuttgart)
Fokker E III at Schwenningen
SSW D IV at Luftwaffenmuseum
Spirit of St. Louis at Laatzen
Bf 109 F for USA
Currently a Do 335 and a Ba 349 is under construction for Pflumm's own museum."
