Seriously..about 20 years ago I was driving down the freeway in a 1990 Ford Mustang, when I passed a flatbed truck hauling an F4U (it was just east of Kalamazoo, but I have no idea where the aircraft came from or where it was going..it was a partial ariframe stripped to bare metal.) Well, I believe there was a four-blade prop strapped on the trailer, but I couldn't tell if the airframe was a -4 or later or not (IIRC it was just a stripped out fuselage/center section.) It was headed east on I-94, and would have been sometime between the summer of 1991 and fall of 1993 (the time frame in which I owned that car.)
