After missing each other so many times when we were at the same event, it was great to finally shake hands with Ryan! My cuz, Ober, and my other cuz, little (but bigger) Ober, did their usual great job of keeping things flowing safe. Hopefully next year Ober will have a radio that actually works! He said the battery died and he was changing it about the time the CenTex Flight (Me in the U-11 leading Grant Lannon in the SNJ-4 "Ol' Yeller" and Calvin Allen in his T-6 "Red Tail") was closing in on the field. Devil Dog heard me, I heard them, Gordon in his T-28 talked to us, but Ober was uncharacteristically quiet!

We were supposed to do a fly-over at Boerne, on the way, at 1000. That had to scrub because we were pretty much socked in at San Marcos. Ceiling was 300 and visibility was 1 1/2 miles until about noon. Then we were finally (after eating lunch) able to get headed to Hondo.

Thanks to those who bought Cobra Den and Yellow Rose T-shirts! We just took shirts and Yellow Rose caps over, but did sell a few. Thanks to Randy and Teresa Smith for handing PX sales! She rode over in the U-11, and Randy was with Calvin.

TSgt Amanda Stevens and her friend enjoyed flying over to Hondo in the U-11. I wasn't actually explaining anyting to them, they had brought me a bottle of water and I was opening it! Amanda's father, Bob, got a ride in "Ol' Yeller" going over. That was in appreciation for raising a daughter who has contributed so much to the defense of our country, and he's a big airplane buff! On the way back, we switched some riders around. Amanda and her friend both got to fly back in T-6 type planes, her father came back in the U-11. Also in the U-11 were Randy and Teresa.

Ryan, I understand why you weren't able to get a shot of my cuz Ober. Next time please be better prepared and bring your wide-angle lens! LOL (Ober, have I said "I love you" lately?)

Hey, a wide-angle is above my pay grade. Seriously, it was an oversight that I regret.
