That's sorta why I asked who had sent the PMs. Seems like that person should be turned into the Mods and none of us would even be involved in this discussion. I have been here for awhile and really enjoy the wealth of knowledge that resides here but some of the cat fights I just don't get.
As for this issue no way I would bail out because of some PM. I would tell the guy to go pound sand and full speed ahead.
I had a guy at a fly in tell me my L 4 should not be in the warbird section because it is not a " real " warbird. I just laughed at him and asked him where his plane was at.

Skyraiderdriver, if you're reading this, don't let some two-bit chickenshiat retard who can't tell his CAPS LOCK from the Civil Air Patrol turn you off to this board. There are tons and tons of really good folks here, lots of whom have a wealth of experience on your favorite aircraft that they're happy to share.

And to the hard-working mod team... it's starting to sound like the Banhammer might need to be unleashed on a more frequent basis. We can't have jackholes running around doing this to new users, as it reflects poorly on WIX in general. All it takes is one of these idiots talking that crap to someone influential, and all the hard work Scott and others have done to grow and protect the WIX brand will go up in smoke in a nanosecond.

Some thoughts here:
First, there's obviously some people annoyed at the OP - that's a problem. Sometimes we all need to look in the mirror at WHY someone is upset at us. Lots of short, silly, or "me too" posts do annoy people, and being outspoken and just shooting your mouth off because you can is also annoying to many of us here (as is posting a single smiley as above - hint, hint!). I've been guilty of that myself (with my non-moderator username), but I try to avoid it. Also, we've lost some "better" members - who were productive contributors - because of guys who couldn't see how annoying they were to those folks. That's a problem.
Second, if the PM is true (and we don't have all of the conversation, so we don't know exactly what went on) those people did NOT talk to the mods enough about it as far as I know. So the person that sent this PM compounded the problem by not behaving like a mature adult, and trying to POLITELY address the perceived problem. If you do THAT, and then contact a mod if whatever is bothering you doesn't stop, then we can try a peaceable solution. If not, then the issue can be addressed by another means.
Third, just getting your temper up and leaving, without telling a mod (patiently, too, 'cause we have lives of our own) and waiting for a response compounds the problem further. That's immature as well.

It not only takes those of us working on them to keep them going, but more importantly people like you with the passion for us to share them with. I have much to learn on the Warbirds I work on and much to share and learn with others on WIX. You won't find the diversity and passion anywhere else.
