Any museum buildings ( LSFM, Collings, Texas Flying Legends, etc...) will have a public entrance, just like at Galveston, the airside would open to the ramp.

Some other potential additions to Ellington may help with attendance.
Embry-Riddle may add a campus at Ellington and also heard about an F-100 (hope I got the right one) museum to be located there. Ellington seems to be somewhat of a magnet these days - good deal. I've always liked the location, enjoyed my night touch n gos there, and of course, WoH.

airnutz, that's the kinda thing I mean, that'll work. I'm in 100% agreement with all you and Rick H are saying. Especially the 'before rush hour' part......

I for one will miss the Sinkin' Sandbar. Up to a point. But as Larry said, the reason for moving is elevation. It will also put the museum about forty five minutes closer to those of us living on the other side of Houston and points beyond.

This may cause Collings to spin up a new museum there as well. Love it! Wished the museums up here in DFW would all cluster together and pool their resources at Meachem or Lancaster or Addison...

With the impending move, does this put some urgency into at least having the PB4Y into at least ferriable condition?

Will LSFM move the Hustler, or turn it back in to the Air Force Museum? And the Hun, it has some major corrosion where it is mounted to the pedestal, will it survive a move?

As a former member of LSFM, I think the move will be fantastic. I was part of the first group of people back into the museum when the doors were forced opened after hurricane Ike. Im sure most of you all saw the pics. Its something I hope I never see again. Rick H., I know you can vouch for this. It can only get better!!

As far as the new location...couldnt be better. I've always loved Ellington Field (since the Phantom days). Great things to come!!

:drink3: Ive been lurking around here on WIX. As far as the museum...well I got married. That should speak volumes! But, Ive honestly have been doing airshows all of my life. It was time to take a much needed break from the airshow scene. So ive really been out of the loop. But I'll be back.

Anyone have an idea about what will happen to the Super Sabre out front of the LSFM whenever the move happens? Will it be relocated to Ellington or remain on guard at Scholes?
Thanks!
Tommy

It's too early to know and I'd recommend that you go straight to the top with questions.
