Couldn't find anyone slow enough to fly formation with the 1911 Curtiss:

We'll have it at the Pax River airshow on Labor Day weekend, and the F-35B VTOL (actually STOVL I guess) will be there. There's already been some talk of a formation.......

Alternatively there's also been talk of having the Curtiss make a flyby and the Blue Angels making a diamond photo pass timed to coincide for a brief (very!) photo op at show center-

Air & Space says it's patterned off of some Navy maintenance coveralls in order to honor the ground/deck crews. Maybe someone currently serving can post a photo.

I suppose a Sea Knight could stay back with it too

My dad has been coming out the past 5 years for it so I just do it as a regular Joe.

In that last group of photo's did the door gunner loose his .50 , well almost as it looks like he's hangn' on as best as he can...

After viewing how they constructed the mounts for the oxy/propane Ma Deuce I'd venture to guess there was little danger of loosing it, but without the crewmember stabilizing it it may well have flogged about damaging itself and the rocket tubes etc.

Google Earth over Oshkosh was recently updated, shot on Monday during the convention. Worth a look if you are interested in the massive scale of it all.

The Navys new BDU's are patterned after the Armys 'city' camo BDU's so just picture those in a dark blue with black and gray dashes instead of green, tan, and brown. They do look good, I see lots of folks wearing them around here, N.S. Everett and N.A.S. Whidbey Island & PSNS.
