Hi all

I am going to Wanaka 2006 at easter and I thought thjat by now a lot of forumites plus the Flypast lot would be going as well .

I will be there for 10 days but in Wanaka the Friday and Saturday as well as Sunday night.

Given that forumites from Aus , UK , USA and all over the world will be there perhaps we could ORGANISE a get together so at least we all have a sort of "Red lion of the South" event where we all sit around and have a social get together ....

So Perhaps it could work like this
1) List here if you are going for sure
2) I will sus out likely places we can meet for dinner/drink
3 ) Strat anm email stream to keep in touch so we all know whats happening

So are you going ?

Regards
John P

Hi Setter

I am tempted, this maybe an alternate to visiting the States next year. All I have to do is convince the present Mrs EN830 that she wants to endure the 24 hour flight to Christchurch +stop over, it'll be for a good cause.

'Classic Wings' will most likely have a tent there, but not confirmed at this time. Sounds like a few 'new' aircraft will make their debut.
I believe Steve P is intending to be there.

Hi Setter

I'm working on the wife, she seems keen to try New Zealand, and we are looking at flights.

Any idea what the camping is like in the Wanaka area, we may tour the country by mobile home.

Hi EN830

There is a great area overlooking the airfield where lots of people park motorhomes - you get a fantastic view - NO REALLY fantastic view of the airfield and the snow capped mountains - go to the WOW site and they should help you with costs , facilities etc

Kindest regards and look forward to seeing you

It would be great to see everyone at Mandeville (Croydon Aircraft Company) for those that have a particular interest in deHavilland machines, before or after.
We hope to be at WoW also, aircraft, weather and everything else permitting.
Setter can fill everyone in on what we have, if I recall he was here not that long ago :?:

Leapoards, Puss and other types - An Oxford/Ambassador being rebuilt REALLY lots to see and do and they have a nice restraunt etc - well worth the visit

Dear Anne,

I have been forwarded your email by Lake Wanaka Tourism in the hope I can find you some accommodation here in Cromwell as all accommodation is now completely full in Wanaka.
Cromwell is a 35 minute drive from Wanaka and if you are going to the Air show ,as most people seem to be, the airfield is on the Cromwell side of Wanaka.
Most accommodation in Cromwell is also booked however I can offer you a motel unit, brand new still under construction but finished well before April or Home stay bed and breakfast accommodation.
Please get back to me if you would like to be accommodated here in Cromwell and I will get back to you with the options and prices.I will be able to book the accommodation on your behalf if you are able to supply your credit card details.

Yours sincerely
Helen Scoles
Manager
