May I modify my guess to read a single engine aircraft of Commonwealth manufacture utilising a Hawker hydraulic selector...

You may, but it's still lacking correctness...
It's nor British, or Commonwealth. AFAIK, all the parts are appropriate (i.e. not foreign substitutes) and I couldn't read some of the instructions on them.

Photo was taken in the early 2000s. Very exciting restoration, original type wooden wing, steel tube fuselage structure.
