The aircraft have since been moved. The last pictures I've seen has them on the main ramp over by the C-5s.

As reported in another thread...one has been put on display at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas.

Rick, does the simulated flightline for the Security Forces still exist? If so, have some other type of airplanes been put there instead?

I believe F-16.
They're an improvement, an SF guy can take the FOD cover off and take a nap in an air intake.

I knew a former SP (probably AP when he was in) who said he used to nap in a B-52 bomb bay...when it was on alert.

No, the simulated flightline area where the 105s were was needed for a new Homeland Security training building.

The tails are off, the afterburner petals have been sawed off their hinges with a chop saw. The spars have been cut. The engines have all been pulled and spikes were driven through the hot sections. They are laying in the grass. Work was sped up and a big push was made to get this done. First hand info is that the push was ordered specifically to keep the airframes and engines from going to Collings for use as spares, should legislation be successful.

Everything that is happening to these aircraft has been ordered by the people who control them.

When the chief historian of the USAF states " the history of the USAF is best told with static aircraft", you better believe he means it !

There has also been a comment that these aircraft have to be demilled because they are nuclear capable and are covered by SALT Treaty I.

Here are a few shots to document the NMUSAF idea of preservation of historic aircraft.
