He was in several war movies. I was just watching Dragnet the other day. I knew he was still alive. Funny he just died!

One of his earliest speaking roles was in that WW2 tub Thumper 'On a Wing and a Prayer' which starred Dana Andrews and Alexander Graham Bell....er... Don Amichi, and was also the first screen appearance (I think) of Richard Jaeckel as the 17 year old turret gunner.
