2006 air shows

Is their a good web site that will list the 2006 air shows?

Also what ones would you recommend for WWII aircraft in North America?

I know I will be at Geneseo and Thunder over Michigan ( Spitfires Baby

In addition ICAS generally posts the next years (2006) schedule around the first of December! And several shows that I would recommend for WWII aircraft would have to be the Indianapolis Air Show, Elkhart Air Show, and FreedomFest (Goshen).

IMHO, anyone who can NOT make both Thunder Over Michigan and Geneseo should take in Oshkosh (end of July) as an alternate venue.

Yes, Oshkosh is a madhouse of activities & people, but, you get to see a w-i-d-e range of Warbirds (400+/-)...many are top dollar restorations, but there are also many owner/pilot/mechanic/restorer (same person, 1 hat) warbirds as well.

There are also numerous talks and forums with interesting speakers and more activities to do than humanly possible.

I have volunteered on the Warbird Flight Line for many years and get to meet and talk with a wide range of plane nuts like myself...let's see, up close & personal with great warbirds, aviation enthusiasts and veterans...all of which makes up for the long winters in New England with no warbirds in sight for many snowy and cold months. :angry:

I agree. These are some of the lesser known shows but they always have a great warbird turnout. Goshen has the most fun atmosphere of any warbird show I go to. Your always close to the action and there's always a good variety of warbirds there. I also might try MAPS and I think Toledo is having a show next year so I might check that out. Terre Haute is also a good one for warbirds and modern alike.

I went to the Indianapolis Air Show in 2002 for the Corsair Gathering. I could not believe all the other aircraft that showed up. It does rate as one of the top 10 air shows I've been too.

MAAM WW2 weekend is a great time, and growing. The museum's hopes to try and get the Black widow on her legs and tow her out for the show. That along is a can't miss show (if it happens, trying make positive karma for the show & restoration)

Always Geneseo! What a great place & great museum.

Geneseo, IMHO, is the single best airshow. It might not be as big as the others but the atmosphere is excellent. It's definately a Warbird enthusiasts show.

Thunder Over Michigan was alot of fun this year and I will hopefully be able to attend this year. And maybe this time when we talk with Oscarduece we'll actually know who he is at the time
