Several weeks ago, we had these two little lights on each side of the tail cone as our Mystery Parts of the Week contest. We make them our New Mystery Parts of the Week again for this week. Let's see how good your memories are. The tail cone bottom is to the left in the picture with top to the right. What is wrong with this picture?? JR

PS to Randy, we will be anxiously awaiting your report of the Shuttle delivery.

Hint: One of these lights is not Orange! :-) I hear the O2Lady is having trouble seeing colors with that black eye. It sounds like a black eye filters all the colors out?? Who knew?? Oh wait, maybe it is swelled shut??? That would do it!!
In other news, out at the hangar, there is an impressive imprint on the concrete floor next to the CAF 26. Wonder what that was? Looks like a broom with some kind of object on it. This may have been the site of the midair collision with the UFO?? There is also evidence out on the ramp of a Black Helicopter landing. Conspiracy theorists have decended on the area and we expect a statement this week on their findings. That's 30. JR

Duck Drivin Lady: The bottom one is white and the top one is orange except the tail cone is sitting upright on the floor so right is top and left is bottom. Now that we have that straight, just for the record, NOTHING has FALLEN off our airplane. Neither has there been any suspicious UFO activity, Black helicopters or conspiracy theorists invading our little corner of the hangar. Although I was thinking of inviting the Secret Service guys back. They seem to know how to party better than the grumpy old men over on your side. The tail cone was removed per the manual for cleaning and replacement of the lights. Both of which have been accomplished except for the painting of the top lights with ORANGE. You owe me a Fudgecicle, BTW. :-) the other JR

I am not sure what color a "Dreamsicle" might be, but is it amber or really a shade of orange? We have to be specific about that or will get chastised again by the 01 Lady.... she can't be an O2 Lady cause one of her engines is kaput. She can only fly on one, ergo.. O1. When she gets it fixed, she can claim her rightful place as O2 Lady. Everybody agree?? the other JR

(Correction: I misspoke. She was referring to her broom when she mentioned having an engine problem so I just jumped to conclusions....again.... My bad. JR)

Still think her broom should have 2 engines, or 1 broke and 1 not so broke.

Agreed, but did you see what happened to the last fella who got cross ways with her? She put a pox on him that is still festering after 15 years.. Poor guy. Not me on this one..... you tell her. JR

Ahhhhhh, the main gear parts are all painted and dry. Mark did a nice job laying these out and finishing the project. Now if we can get the parts that were sent out for plating back and a spring, we got progress as far as hanging the gear back in the well. Can't put the wheel back on yet though since the brake assy is not back from overhaul. Seems like it always something, huh? JR

This is another view of the main gear after painting. Thanks to Mark, Denis and Big Mike for getting this done. Great job guys!! Our paint scheme is basically "if it moves, it gets silver and if it doesn't move, it gets green." We should not be confused with the typical tourist way of taking pictures around the hangar. If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, shoot it until it does! JR

That is some great looking gear parts. Can't imagine how nice that's going to look all reassembled. That crew you got does some great work. Getting itchy to see it again.

We're back from watching the Shuttle being delivered to Dulles this morning. Was worth the trip. The first pass was right over the parking lot at the museum, then it went downtown, then came back, made another low pass, then landed. Quite a site. The parking lot had filled by about 10am and they closed it. Good thing we got there early. Well worth the trip.
