Some days you just get lucky...

For once in a long time ive got really lucky....and snagged a good lot of historical aviation.

Due to a tip off i found today down street a sale on... and came home after 9hrs of sweating, panicking and nail biting with a big haul of very rare aviation gear.

I acquired a rare 1960s era high altitude flight suit and helmet as worn by US Navy pilots in F-4 and F-8s etc.
I in the end could of snagged it for a unbelivable CHEAP price but over estimated the competition which was none one else and bidded to high oh well...

I then acquired a few stuffed / ok WW2 to 1990s life preservers.

And to top if off i brought home a rare 1951 built RAAF ?? Meteor ejection seat which had ironically a Russian high altitude pilot suit and helmet on it.

Also on sale were many gauges, Corsair wheels, Avro Anson whole instrument panels, Spitfire prop, Hercules prop blades, models, 7 pilot mannerquins with WW2 to 1970s display and US navy pilot sets.

A friend of mine i told this sale to ended up winning a fair bit as well.

I will onsell most of this gear i brought today shortly on ebay and probably keep the Meteor seat and display it at airshows in Australia alongside my F-4 Phantom seat. It will be good to heave a 2 generation seat along side a 3rd generation seat to educate people.

Any chance you have a gutted out helmet, or do those have all the equipment still with them? I'm looking for one for my Flight Sim :wink:

Any chance you might have a B-3 or B-4 with most of it's parts that you'd consider selling for $100 or less? (Figure it can't hurt to ask...)
