I can't confirm that Lt Bohna flew under the Eiffel Tower but a lot of fighter pilots did after Paris fell in the late summer of 1944 so it's very possible. Jon A Maguire's excellent book Gooney Birds and Ferry Tales, about the 27th Air Transport Group, has a bit about this. Fighters were literally queuing up to fly through and one unfortunate ferry pilot was unlucky enough to have his tail number taken by some groundpounder. The book has a copy of the reprimand issued to him by the Commanding General and the imposition of a $75 fine!
It got so bad that the military authorities let it be known that cables would be strung if it didn't cease.
