Great video. I can't imagine being in that turret for 5-6 hours in 40 degrees below zero in the hostile skies over Germany. Wow.

The video turned out great. I want to be sure that Whitney gets the credit for making the video as it was his camera, mount and expertise that made it happen. He was kind enough to let me take a copy of the videos and edit and post it. I had a vision of this video in my head for a real long time and you brought it to life. Way cool! Its the young folk like Whitney that make me feel good about the future of Warbirds. He is a hard working and sharp kid with the passion and drive to get things done. He is an outstanding crew chief for the Collings Foundation and they are lucky to have him. Thanks Whitney.

Thanks also to the Collings Foundation because if it wasn't for them then we wouldn't have such wonderful aircraft to take videos of and play with. Rob Collings obviously loves this stuff as much as we do, if not more so, and he is instrumental in making all this great stuff happen. The Foundation has come a long ways under his direction and its all positive in my book. Thanks Rob.

Jim Harley is another Warbird nut with a passion for these great aircraft that is unequaled. He is my hero because he started at the bottom at Collings with little flying experience and worked his way to being chief pilot through his hard work, dedication and skills. Jim is the great American success story, as far as I am concerned, because he earned what he has achieved with hard work and a wonderful attitude the whole entire way. Not a shred of ego issues with Jim which is more than rare in this business. A great guy who is ALWAYS willing to help you and share what he has learned. Thanks Jim.

Its these guys and many more with their great attitudes that make coming out to play with the Collings gang so much fun. Now I need to put down the Harpoon parts for a while and get out on the road with them. It has been way too long.

Keep 'em Flying!

Taigh,

Are there any photos of the mount? Did you use the same mount on the Harpoon turret? It seems the only limit to these GoPro cameras (I have two myself) is imagination.

Whitney had a cool bar clamp for a large diameter pipe that fit the 50 cal barrel perfectly. I need to get one myself. On the Harpoon I used the standard adhesive mount and piled on the gaffers tape. It worked.
