There are several custom car painters who are very, very good at doing 'Fauxtina' paint jobs.

The word the Docents have been given is the plane is held up for paperwork, it was all in Russian and has to be translated.

Sadly, the forecast isn't looking all that great (for the third year in a row) but at least this year it's not supposed to be chilly. The last two years it's actually been not warm at all and people were breaking out flight and field jackets to stay warm. I couldn't get over being cold on a weekend in June!

Don't forget the go-go girls flown in by a Huey to the strains of Flight of the Valkyries, and then all retire to the beer garden :partyman: for a retro-'60's & '70's band (again with go-go girls!) and drinkin' with the pilots you just saw flying. Great country atmosphere, never too crowded, and a fine contingent of local re-enactors camped out with some great military trucks and gear.
I don't think the go-go girls will be there this year, the website says no "USO" show this year (it was never well attended anyway). As for the re-enactors, I'm one that shows up every year with my WW2 Jeep. If any WIX member sees me in the WW2 camp area, please say howdy!

Please, say it ain't so! There never really was a "show" that I recall...just go-go girls to dance and drink beer with. Or was there a show and I was enjoying the latter too much to notice the show ha ha ha? Hopefully the band will still be there; and the beer garden. I get mighty thirsty lookin' at warbirds, ya know, and definitely will require sustenance! :tonqe:

Sorry, it's so. From the shows FAQ page:

Please Note: there will not be a USO-Styled show this year.

Actually, those of us in the WW2 camp were pleased to hear this as in previous years they've put the show right next to our area and we've been blasted with music while we're waiting for the crowds to thin out on Saturday night each year...

NO B-17, just got back from OFM and got the word, they had an engine problem in Medford and won't be at OFM this weekend...
I took my Jeep over this afternoon and couldn't resist getting this shot:
