Hi

Has anyone got any good photos of Bf109E 3579 on the ground or in the air for a possible article update coviering her other lives after she was damaged as 'White 14'.

Probably only need a 2-4 on the ground and a couple in the air to choose from if possible.

Let me know.

regards

Mark

Sent you a couple of the damage via PM, if you want more of her without a big dent, let me know.

Russell's, although they haven't been campaigning the aircraft for 2 years.

The Spitfire was sold to the UK.

After talking to Rob Gillman at Geneseo, he said that the 109, Hurricane, and Harvard are still there. But the Spit is indeed at Biggin Hill. A shame to see such an interesting small group fold up. :( The 109 wont sell unless someone ponies up some BIG bucks for her. After all, its only one of two ME-109E's flying right now so its pretty much the "name your price game".

I have a formation pic taken from VRA. I'll see if I can find it tonight.

Been sent by Craig Rae, both on the ground and in the air so should be sorted.

Another anniversary coming up - its loss 70 years ago.

Messerschmitt Bf109E-7 W.Nr3579 'White 7' of 4./JG5 piloted by Lt Kurt Hammel on 02.08.42 undertook force landing at PjaOzero, Northern Russia after combat with lend lease Hawker Hurricanes and claimed one for his 11th Victory. Would be nice to see it in this scheme. Originally 100% but changed to 30% but still not recovered until the 1990's.
On a FreiJagd with wingman Uffz Willi Tretter in Bf109E 5559 'White 10' who was also shot down and made POW.

regards

Mark
