I don't know where to get them. I picked up a large lot of various hole saws and mandrels on eBay years ago and this was included. Normal mandrel has a pilot but for this I cut the pilot off. The id of hole saw cutter needs to be close to the od of the dzus.

So we're at the FAA ramp waiting for practice here at the Atlantic City Airshow, and the nice FAA people want to get a photo next to Andrew's plane. Here's how he looked right as the photo was taken. Classic.

Waiting to fly today, weather looks great, they say 1 million people will be on the beach and boardwalk today. The 177th FW has been awesome, I've got their engine test hangar all to myself.

Hi Rich...as so many others have put it, I appreciate so much your posts and pictures of the inner workings of the fine machines you work on! Being able to pass on your knowledge to your boys is just wonderful! And, Mr Beasley seems like a great man to work for
I was curious if you are a pilot or have ever considered learning the fly the beautiful aircraft that you do such lovely work on? Sorry if this is a redundant question that you may have answered before.

Cool photos Jim. I like the one with the Spitfire and Mustang. Pretty cool to see you up with 2 F-4s!

I didn't want to mix questions (from the SNJ/T6 thread)....We are also working on a Mustang here. It seems to have developed alternator/voltage regulator problems. The airplane is twenty hours out of restoration...everything looks good, but it burned up a voltage regulator, which we replaced, only to discover that the alternator was bad, which then burned up the second voltage regulator. That has been replaced, but we are now in a bit of a quandry wondering if our problem is a wiring one that is causing the failures. A mechanic who worked on the airplane prior to restoration said that many Mustang operators don't like using alternators: the old generator is what they prefer. Any suggestions on this issue would be appreciated.

Put a generator system back on it and be done with it.

We have the Jasco Alternator and get 200-300 hours from them typically.
I would ring out the schematic and check wiring, check the balance resistor
Also alternator and voltage regulator should both be checked any time one shows a problem. I recently changed one of each on BE and had one set sent out for O/H. Jasco does this at no charge but takes some time. I don't think there is any approved repair avail other than OEM. They almost always say it needs to be O/Hed when I have sent them but one time it only needed a rubber coupling they changed at N/C.
These are an item, whether gen or alt, that a spare is a good thing to have on the shelf.
