This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I took dozens of photos when I recently went (got there early on a Monday morning so there was hardly anyone else there at the time), I need to download a few...

I also need to upload some shots of the USS Texas I took a few days later as well, but that's another story.

Yes, they are the same class (South-Dakota Class)...sister ships.

I my cross-country trip last month, I saw the Alabama and the Texas each at their own display sites. I know there's an active plan to display the Texas in a dry dock type display on blocks (the darned thing has open holes below the water line and I watched lots of water being pumped out of her). I asked around at the Alabama and was told they'd like to do the same but there are no plans at this time to do so.
At least the USS Drum got pulled onto dry land!

Great pics, I never knew this place and collection even existed and I simply love the B-25!

the B-25 was a former Mirex Sprayer used by Dothan Aviation at the now paved over and gone Wheelless Airport in Dothan, Alabama.
IIRC she was airlifted from the Wheelless Airport via a CH-54 Skycrane and transported to the USS Alabama Battleship Commission for display.
