My feelings in regards to this is that these images should be shared and enjoyed by everyone. When I put a picture on the Registry or elsewhere on the site I usually put the credit as unknown. If I acquire information about ownership then I will change the credit. Simple enough to do. If the owner wants it taken down I'll do that as well.

What it comes down to is that you can't make everyone happy. Someone, somewhere will find fault with anything and EVERYTHING you do. It drives me nuts sometimes (and those that know me know that is a short drive). But you just have to live with it.

As with all things, calm down before you post and be civil about it.

well, it seems i am not the only one in troubles with crediting things here.
somebody was asking me about who was the original source of certain information that a saw in any web page but appeared also in other page. that was kind of impossible for me to know and for that i was banned for a month.
if someone shares just information or a headline why do they do that? my simple intention is just "sharing" nothing else, and for that, i am discourage in posting new news about any topic. if somebody with seniority in the forum is lucky to see those news and has time to do it, good, but in my case i will just make comments as in this case.

I prefer to see photos and information attributed, for several reasons. It's legal (and it is NOT true that copyright has expired on every photo or other work created during WWII), it's courteous, and it's informative. Just post whatever info you have. If you've just scrounged the photos off the web, you at least know what web site you got them from. If it was a while ago and you truly have no information, just post a note at the top of your picture post saying that if you haven't included a link or some other info with any pic, you don't have any source info.

I've enjoyed the pics a lot, thanks for digging through that vast archive! My view is go ahead and post the pic, with a disclaimer.
