Power is on in Eatontown at least on my street, but not 1/10 of a mile away on RT35. Lots of rich housewives are driving around Monmouth County bashing (literally I saw it myself) through barriers and driving under downed power lines trying to find an open starbucks. Its an amazing sight.

I stayed home from work again as the bridges to NYC are min of three people car pools so I can't get to LGA. That and we have a 7pm-7am curfew so I wouldn't be able to come home tonight after my day trip. They really rushed the re-opening of LGA much to everyone's surprise as it was under water. The issue now that they re-opened is who can actually go to work? If they can how do they get there? Now there is a fuel shortage. I'm glad I stayed home.

My brother lives in the Manassas area and lost power for less than 24 hours, no damages to the house, either.
I feel for those who lost power in a widespread loss. Last January, I had an ice and snow storm roll into my area (the Puget Sound, WA state) and shut off the power everywhere as far as you could go, except for a pocket just south of us. We lucked up and found a hotel after the first night in a dark and cold house before others realized that area had power, but that was the only area that did. Many didn't have power for over a week, we were 'lucky' just to be out for 3 days...

Were still out of power since Monday. We're expecting Monday to possibly get it back...

As with several hundred thousand others we will have another nite without electrons flowing.
Generator is humming along. Most here have had showers at the hangar along with laundry and dishes washed. Trucked in more water for the bathroom.
Hoping that soon all will regain their power and normalcy will return.

I also wonder about the intelligence of the museum staff too.
Did they move as much of the birds inside as they could? (lower into Hangar deck)
Or they leave them all outside to be ripped up? (obviously some like SR-71 could not be moved).

Good to hear those that posted are OK.
Now for those that have yet to....

All of our peeps are OK, the C-97 has survived the weather at Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn (Not to far from Breezy Point)

Some of us have had flooded homes, and what not. Most still without power.

People are getting nuts for gasoline.

I agree, the fuel situation is getting nutty. I figured people would have filled their tanks Tuesday or Wednesday and be conserving now, but the lines at the stations just seem to be getting longer.

Could be dark and cold for another week or more at chez August up in Westchester. There hasn't even been a confirmed sighting of a Con Edison truck in my area. Too much to do in Long Island and NYC I guess. Still, the failure to make even a token effort up here isn't helping their brand.

Here are some shots with our own Mark Corvino inspecting the damage on Monday I think? While it sucks and EVERY room we are in has been affected, it's still not as bad as other areas, like New York and New Jersey. We were lucky to only receive 6" to 8". But we will be keeping this in mind as we move forward. We wish all of our friends a fast and speedy recovery.

Looks MUCH better then what Hurricane Ike did to the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston.

You had 8 inches, LSFM had 8+ FEET

Still, great to hear you are OK and cleanup will be (relatively) easy.
Stay warm and ration the p-nuts! :)

Doing fine. No property damage. Both neighbors have some large trees down. No power since Monday, but that is no big deal compared to how bad some people have it.

Saw several convoys of Utility Co. trucks headed east on the PA Turnpike this AM. Hopefully they are headed out your way and to help along the coast.

The line and pole infront of my house was repaired yesterday so I am hoping the power will be back on soon. The work crews were from Michigan.
