N173LA may be for sale. It has flown in the US and needs a thorough annual. It has been stored indoors and is in good condition.

I took the below Vampire photo at the Orange County, California airport circa 1958-59. IIRC, someone there said it was an ex-RCAF ship. Note the second Vampire parked behind.
Does N6885D still exist?

That is a very interesting photograph. I believe that it is former Vampire F 3 VP751 / 17062, which was delivered in April 1949 and served with 421 and 442 (RCAF) Squadrons and placed on the US register (ie. sold) in in March 1958. It seems to have been next recorded at Livermore, California, ca. 1966 - 1968, before being noted derelict at Santa Ana, Calif. in June 1973 and subsequently passed to Letcher & Associates of Lancaster, Calif, the same year. It was stored in a dismantled condition at Mojave ca. 1974 - 1981 and has not been noted since.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for the updates, which was of great interest. One small point, is A79-661 a Vampire T 35 and not a FB 31?

How are you on preserved Vampires in Mexico?

Rgds,

Dave

Just as an afterthought: was in Montana last year and was taken around Great Falls ANGAB, Malstrom Museum and Helena ANG.

One Vampire airframe that seems to have slipped through the net is Vampire T.35A A79-824. Location uncertain but last reported Brighton, VA? Can anyone please help?
