Let me give this a try. I spent 3 years there so I should know where things were. But this place is so chopped up it is not easy. I looked a long time at Goggle images before trying this. NAS AC was located just off Tilton road on the south west side of the airport. We entered the base on Louis lane and then turned left going towards runway 4. Present day images show only one street after that turn and I believe that we went two blocks down to our barracks. There are several buildings where those barracks were. As I look at today's images our hangar for VC4 is where there is now what looks like private aircraft parked with a hangar. Our ramp is where those planes are parkeThis is south west of the terminal I would say that we had a road that would bisect the parking garage and Amelia Ernhart road. VC 33 and VX3 had a hangar there. Runway 31/13 has been extended and used to end where the present day terminal was. The old commercial side was to the east on the other side of the airport. Yours, John Knapp AM 2, VC4, 1952 -1955

No I do not have a photo of that particular aircraft. I do have #611, 124710,#645 ,121913 and #637 ,122061. I have many photos. Mostly Corsairs of VC 4 , a Few F 2H and general flight deck shots. I probably will post these but am new to this site so give me time. Yours John Knapp
