In Russian only.

Yes...also replicas.

Many more on the site itself.

Makes me wonder.....how many of these are real!? Can a few Lagg or Il2 be fetch!?

Even as gate gards...exchanged or traded???

Seems to me would be cheaper than to start with an underwater reccovery. Unless dealing with authorities is more expensive than scratch building from paterns

Take the first pull down to select models:

Checkout CW 82 to see which IL-2s are 'real'.

http://www.classicwings.com/classic-win ... php?y=2011

The Ju 52 was recovered several years ago from the side of a mountain- ex Luftwaffe and Soviet Air Force.

IIRC one of those P-63s is the Monino example.

Hurricane at Revda is mostly original

LaaGs, MiGs, La's, Pe-2s etc are replicas.

Not sure on the Li-2s

Tks Dave.

Would love to get extra $ to subscribe as I get older

Seems the Russians have replicas pretty well figured out also!!??

Good for them. And they look good also.!!

Curious to see what you guys are thinking of dealing with foreign bureaucracy vs. scratch building from patterns?

OK, let's say you do a program ( in Russia of course ) to restore for a museum a pedestal unit in exchange for getting the patterns.

Is there a market value for the IL2 or Laggs? Or even Migs 15's and 17's!

Pretty sure NOS are more than plenty however. If you rearch well and have the contacts.

I think you mean an Su-2?

IIRC, I read somewhere there is only one surviving Su-2.

Michel

PM me your addy and I will send the issue. Early Xmas present while I am feeling generous

Some of my Russian buddies have already done this, there are actually a lot of drawings still available in the archives for VVS types. Not so for the likes of the Oscar for example, which I know they had a lot of problems with - the aircraft is now on display at the Victory Museum, Moscow and uses original parts, but isn't quite right in a lot of ways. They have also tried to trade a number of the more original memorial aircraft - replacing them with mockups, but this has proved difficult, as of course compensation to make the trade 'even' in value gets complicated- especially with local 'officials' involved.

Saves this sort of thing happening... :|

Market value for VVS types is low compared to Western types for many reasons, but with the flight of the IL-2 in the US things are probably looking up for that type at least. Yaks 3/9s are of course quite popular and well established thanks to the Orenburg production and value for money.
