I had noticed the movie 12 o'clock high has been released on blu ray. Has anyone gotten it yet? Reviews or extra material? And is there anymore classic war movies scheduled for blu ray that anyone has had their eye on? Love to see,

S.a.c
Jet pilot
They were expendable
Wing and a prayer
Flying leathernecks
Etc etc etc

For this WIXers in the Baltimore area I've found a new channel (at least new on Comcast) called My Entertainment Television (MeTV). They have been airing episodes of the 12 O'Clock High TV-series. I'd never seen any of these episodes and they are great! My wife enjoys them as well, we've seen so many people on there that went onto become big stars- Tom Skerritt, Boss Hogg, the Gunny Sgt from Heartbreak Ridge (he's a regular- the doctor), Peter Fonda, among others.

Check it out.

I just stumbled across it was well. I hadn't seen an episode since it was on when i was a kid.
It wasn't too bad...if you don't count the mountains in East Anglia :).

The episode last night had Paul Burke as a major..his character later became the CO of the 918th after Robert Lansing left the series.

Yea, we have MeTV over here in Cincy, too. Unfortunately it's on one of those newfangled decimal channels that I can only receive over the air. It got me hooked on Hogan's Heroes.

Blu Ray?

Oh yes, that's the format they invented to get you to buy all over again the same movies you've already bought on DVD, and before that on VHS.

Twelve O'Clock High has been on Blu Ray for awhile. I still a haven't bought it.

Strategic Air Command isn't avalable at oll on DVD, let alone Blu Ray. Same for my other favorite SAC-fest...A Gathering of Eagles.

There was a limited edition (3000, IIRC) release of Fate is the Hunter on DVD last year. I bought that.
Also, a nice DVD of Flight From Ashiya is available. Lots of HU-16s and H-19s. I got that and Fate is the Hunter last year for Christmas.
My wife hoped it would keep me from watching Bearcats! all the time. :)

Yup, I ran across it here in Houston back around February or March. Combat! airs in the hour previous to TOH. I began about halfway into the Lansing episodes and that lasted until about July or August to finish the color ones before the loop started again. Here's the episode guides etc. They're very handy to ID the actors and what they did later as well as shoot locations.

Last year at Christmas time, I saw "Battle of Britain" for sale on Blu-Ray at Walmart. Haven't seen it this year.
