I was looking at how the bombardier would bail out and I was wondering something. Is the bottom of the seat part of the escape slide? Looking at the third, fourth, fifth and seventh pictures I am guessing that the piece of wood does not normally go there or that it would need to be removed for him to get to the slide. That piece of wood looks like it is in the way.
