I saw that picture in an old copy of Air Classics. From what I recall it was one of the 8 Corsairs that were sitting in Blythe (?), CA, in 1968, and it was significant that someone apparently had started some kind of restoration work correctly. Also, from what I recall, the majority of those Corsairs are still extant.

I seriously doubt that's Blythe. After living near there for 35 years, I can say that doesn't look anything like the Southern California desert where Blythe is.

I did have my location wrong. The pic was taken at Mosely Field, near Phoenix, AZ. The pic was taken around '68 and was one of the several Corsairs stored at that location...all owned by one Mr. Bob Bean.

You sure? I've spent a ton of time in Phoenix and that doesn't look anything like Phoenix. Phoenix doesn't have trees like that. Nor does it have grass like where the tail of the plane is sitting.

I concur, that looks like Mosely's to me. And I've lived in the near vicinity for 35 years. The "grass" is probably a farmer's field of some type or a bunch of weeds, both of which can be found around here in quantity still.

Well, that's 2-1 saying it's Mosley. Since I've never been to Mosley, I'll go with that! LOL
