Sun N Fun Emergency 04/12/2013

Yesterday I was listening to Live ATC from KLAL (Lakeland Sun N Fun) via the internet & just before 1500 hrs, just before the field closed for the air show, someone had an emergency, sounded like it might have been a T-28 one of the air show aircraft, & had to get back to the field, & land. T-28 lead broke off from the formation & escorted the emergency aircraft back to the field, flying his wing calling turns, altitude, etc... Both aircraft landed safely, & all involved did an outstanding job handling what sounded like some serious issue was at hand.
Does anyone know what aircraft, who it was, & what was the nature of the emergency? Just curious.
Glad all ended well on that one.

I only saw one T-28 today at Sun'n'Fun and they were working on the engine. Not sure where the rest of the T-28's were...

Thanks for the reply. I still have not found out anymore.
Talking with a coworker this morning, that was there working the Pilatus booth, says that the first he heard of it.
Once again, just glad everything worked out for those involved.

If it was a T-28, it may have been a blown oil line or seal (i.e. covering glass with oil) thus why he needed to be "escorted" to the runway. Definitely a serious issue on so many levels, but one that can be managed by a well trained pilot, especially in a situation like that where he has a wingman he can use for guidance.
