Hello, I was trying to find a WWII Navy Pilot or Gunner for a signature. I am having a hard time finding someone. I would prefer an SBD Dauntless Pilot or Gunner or SB2C or TBF.

If anyone could provide a contact I would appreciate it.

Thanks

You might try a Google search for a reunion organization for known squadrons. The problem is, just like the Doolittle Raiders hosting their final reunion, so too these organizations find it difficult to conduct a reunion with so few members still with us. My own late fathers squadron (VMB-433) ceased them a few years ago. Even the youngest crew member you seek would be 85ish. Best wishes in your search.

Because of what all the previous posts have pointed out, it makes me glad that I made the effort on this..Most of the guys have made their final flight west..

Last year I had to go to get my First Class FAA medical renewed for my flying job. The office had a bunch of pictures and among them was one of a SB2C with several airmen in front of it. After the doctor did what he had to do, I asked him if he was a pilot, and yes he was a SB2C pilot. Dr Perraud in Fort Lauderdale. Gave me some funny advice on women and life, good guy, I'd assume he'd be able to help.

Thank you for the responses. I love the pics of the A-2 - that is a great looking jacket. My friends grandpa was a tail gunner in the 8th AAF flyiing a B-24 and I got his signature on my jacket also. He is still in great health. Flew many missions, lots of great stories.
