As in the words of General Douglas MacArthur, “And like the old soldier of that ballad, I now close my military career and just fade away, an old soldier who tried to do his duty as God gave him the light to see that duty.”

On 18 April 2013, I sat in my patrol cruiser, and remembered the 80 brave men that flew into history 71 years ago.
While this year is their last toast, I will...as long as I am capable, toast those 80 brave men on each anniversary of their mission of so long ago....until I too fade away.
May our Lord have blessed each one of them.

On the USS Yorktown, where I'm a volunteer, we have a B-25 bomber and a display about the Doolittle Raid. I spoke about the raid and the last reunion to a myriad of folks today, and found most of them had heard about the last reunion and could intelligently discuss the raid and its aftermath. I was pleased that so many knew details.

Concur, as life is like a roll of toilet paper.. ...the closer you get to the end, the Faster it Goes pop2

I am concerned that World War Two will become yet a seldom glanced at footnote in the history of this great Nation. Look at how the founding Fathers of this Country have been relegated to in some cases, a mere paragraph.
