LAX DC-3

While transiting LAX for the the return home from Philippines, spotted this DC-3 sitting on the south ramp.
Anyone have an I.D.?

With the amount of Law Enforcement vehicles around it Im thinking impounded.

To me it looks like an airport police station??

I doubt that smuggling something via LAX would be a good plan even to the dumbest of criminals, but you never know!

Finally looked on Google earth and it looks like some kind of display
as it is roped off.

That used to be Union Oil Company (Unical) corporate airplane. When Unical disposed of it it had some corrosion issues around the windscreen...don't recall who got it. It was a nice DC-3.

When I've been waiting in the LAX terminal I have sometimes seen events taking place around that plane. Once the DC-2 and the B-25 Heavenly Body were parked next to it.
