There is a bit more to the deal than that. HARS are manufacturing a set of blisters and nose turret for QFM.

That is good that they can do that work. I know HARS made some blisters for their cat, which they borrowed from Rathmines I think it was.

Lake Boga I think, not Rathmines.

Yes you are correct, Lake Boga was the place that donated the blisters.

.
As usual David you are absolutely correct. ..HARS used the Boga blisters as templets to scratch build our own new ones. The perspex was a mix of new and original . In return the Boga blisters were refurbished as new and refitted to the Boga Cat by HARS volunteer metal bashers.
They were a perfect fit and an absolute credit to those involved.
HARS also rebuilt the Boga Cats badly corroded wing floats and then lastly as the final part of the deal HARS volunteers also helped the Boga Museum volunteers to completely repaint their Cat.
We at HARS are quite proud of our in-house aircraft preservation skill sets and have actively helped other museums where possible.
The Lake Boga exercise was quite challenging for HARS volunteers as the distances between Wollongong (HARS) and Lake Boga is some ~890km. .
