This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Anyone on WIX involved with the museum??? I was there 2 yrs ago and had only seen one UH-1H there S/N 68-16138. On the registry, they are supposed to have 2, the 2nd being 67-17658. Is this right????

they have 1 huey, it was the last ARMY HUEY to leave vietnam, doesn't include usmc, usn ones, etc. after that it served with the 138th air evac reserve out of orlando. it's been at valiant museum since 96. it was then traded, & then donated back!!

the other chopper in question is a 50's era sikorsky.

As I recall, there was a museum in Liberal, Kansas that had the Huey flown by Capt Steve Pless USMC on his MOH mission.

67-17658 is registered as N658H to the Firelands Museum of Military History at Norwalk/Huron County Airport OH. They should also have:
70-16080 Bell AH-1S (by Sep99)
64-13873 Bell GUH-1H (Oct04-Jun05)
66-0825 Bell UH-1H N825HX (Mar97)
66-0992 Bell UH-1H N992H (Sep99-Jun05)
Any recent reports from there?

they are their right now!!!!!!!! that is 10 minutes from where i live!! !!! amazing!!!!!how did you in the u.k. get word of this?? they are owned by a former u.s. congressman or state represenative from this area. his son is a regular contributor to this site, & a warbird owner himself. i think his dad, the owner, lost his medical certification, hence their groundings. there is technically no musuem, although it has been attempted to gain funding by the state of ohio. i was asked to contribute my assets & connections 3 years ago, but to no avail. the hueys are out in the open, in good physical shape, but need some tlc. regards, tom

Yup
Those are ours. We hope to have all the AD's taken care of this year and have them flying again. We sold 658 to pay for the AD's. The museum is building off SR 601. They Huey are moving inside soon as soon as we build the hanger. They are run up , but not flown until the AD get done. All are Viet Nam vets. I have about 10 hours on my way to adding my rotary wing.
In addition to the Hueys and Cobra we have:
M-60A1 Tank
M-578 Armored recovery Vehicle
M-42 Duster
Ferret Armored car
about 15 other vehicles.
