A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

thot you all might enjoy this picture
of my L4's insignia
which i painted on by making a template
tracing the out the pattern
meticulously blue 3M tapping and masking etc.
there are a few flaws
just enough to show the human touch
but i think it looks pretty good
probably way over restored by Lockhaven's standards!

Quick question... Where did you get your plane from, and for how much?
My dad is looking to get a super cub, but he would much rather have a L-4 project
