Airgroup 5 and 13 attached to CV-13 1944-1945

Hello all:

Thank you for creating such a great information exchange. My Dad was on the USS Franklin (CV-13). I am building a few model aircraft that were active on that carrier and would like to be authentic. The builds will be F6F 5N/5P, SB2C-4E, F4U-1D, TBM-3.

I am in need of help with the specific markings of those that flew from this carrier. I understand the white diamond of AG 5, and the two white numbers of AG 13, but not certain what the numbers mean or what other numbers/markings were present.

If anyone can point me to a source for details - numbers and other markings- so that I can detail the planes specific to CV-13 I would be appreciative. Thanks in advance for your help.

I could not upload the pics I have found of the white diamond etc...

Craig

Lots of good stuff here Craig, do a search on my threads as I've posted quite a bit on USS Franklin air groups.
